Art of Photography - Cole Thompson

Award winning photographer Cole Thompson knew at age 14 that he was destined to be a fine art photographer. While living in Rochester, NY, he stumbled across an old building associated with George Eastman, whose biography he read, and his life in photography began.

Thompson has mastered the technique of long exposure, bringing intensified emotional impact to his imagery. It can take a dynamic scene, which a normal exposure would record as static, and create a fluid image. Sometimes the effect is pronounced, where water is transformed into glowing plumes or clouds. Inserting ghost images also contributes an ethereal aura to his photographs.
